Hearst PDF/X-1a Creation Kit
1. Download the Hearst PDF/X-1a Export Instructions here. 2. Unstuff the file using Stuffit Expander. If you do not have Stuffit Expander, go to stuffit.com to download. 3. Download and install the Hearst PDF/X-1a Export Job Options, and move to the appropriate folder following the instructions above. Hearst PPD for Postscript To load the Hearst PPD: 1. Download the Hearst PPD. Special Instructions for Quark 6. 2. Unstuff the file using Stuffit Expander. If you do not have Stuffit Expander, go to stuffit.com to download. 3. Move the PPD to the appropriate folder. See instructions for Mac OSX or Windows XP below. Mac OSX: Move the unstuffed Hearst PPD file onto your hard drive in Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj. Note: You need administrator access on your computer to put files here. If you don't have that, contact the people who support your computer. If you can't do that, you may contact Hudson Yards. Windows XP: 1. Move the file to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86. 2. You may need to also install the Adobe PostScript Driver. If so, see Adobe's website. Note: If you have problems with following these instructions, you may contact Hudson Yards to help you prepare your file. Job Options for Postscript 1. Download the Hearst PDF/X-1a Export Job Options file. 2. Unstuff the file using Stuffit Expander. If you do not have Stuffit Expander, go to stuffit.com to download. 3. Set up Distiller. Launch Acrobat Distiller. Drag the unstuffed hearst.joboptions file on top of the Distiller window. |
